When You May Be Eligible To Change Medicare Plans

A Special Election Period (SEP) allows plan changes outside Open Enrollment

Certain changes in your circumstances may make you eligible for an SEP. Events that trigger these opportunities to change plans include:

  • Change of ZIP code associated with your Social Security benefits

  • Loss or discontinuation of coverage by the insurance carrier

Interested in learning more about special circumstances and SEPs? Visit Medicare.gov, or contact your state’s Department of Insurance (DOI).

If you are eligible for an SEP, contact a benefit advisor or sign into Via Benefits to shop and compare plans.
